Upcycled Cactus is obtained from the juice of the pads of discarded prickly pear cacti from southern Italy, a natural source of water, fiber, and highly moisturizing and skin-protective vitamins. Naturally occurring Hyaluronic Acid is a true hydration pump. Among other things, it's known for being able to retain up to 1000 times its weight in water. The result? More hydrated, plump, and richer skin. With a light texture and a soft touch, it easily spreads on the face, providing comfort and freshness during use. |

Cactus
Can you imagine having to survive in an extremely dry and hostile climate where you could go months without seeing a drop of rain?
In this environment, there grows a plant as curious as it is unique: The Cactus. Protected under a thorny exterior, its leaves hold the secret to its survival: a great reservoir of water and unparalleled hydration. Every year, in southern Italy, farmers prune millions of prickly pear cacti with the aim of improving the quality of their flowers and fruits. During this process, numerous pads (the name by which their stems are known) are discarded. At GSKIN we recover them, knowing that inside there is a great treasure, a natural source of water, fiber, and highly moisturizing and protective vitamins for the skin. |
This is the creation process
A SECOND LIFE
During the pruning process of the prickly pear trees, numerous pads are discarded to improve the quality of their fruit. At GSKIN, we recover them to give them a second life.
EXTRACTION
Through a process of washing, crushing, and drying the pads, a powdered extract loaded with moisturizing active ingredients is obtained, which we then use in our formulas.
FORMULATION
We design, create, and produce a formula with Upcycled Cactus extract, designed to hydrate the skin and reinforce its natural protective barrier function.
PACKAGING
We pack our formula in sustainable glass packaging and boxes made of sugar cane, perfectly closing the sustainability circle.
